Just like big brother

Jacob continuously wants to be like JR. As you can see in the pictures, everything that JR did, Jacob tries to do too. Glad they are finally somewhat playing nice together. For being 2 years apart, they are really close in size. I loved watching Jacob eating the corn on the cob, he actually thought that you ate the cob too, he tried to bite off the end, oops!!! but it was cute anyways, he is always good for a laugh.

Tulip Time

This is one of my favorite times of year. I have lived outside of this area or anywhere close for about 4 years and every year I manage to find a way back here for Tulip Time. I have been to both the parades so far and eaten way too much of the Carnival food, yummy!!! Weight watchers will not like that one on my will power but it was worth it. I took JR to the Wednesday parade because it was raining a little. On Thursday the whole family went and the weather was awesome, we decided to go very last minute and lucked out in finding a good parking spot and then Jim ran into our friend Jenny whom happen to have a little extra room for us, "thanks Jen". Jacob did not sit well but hopefully on Saturday he will be better, and JR as usual really loved it and seeing his cousins in the parade. Last weekend we had some friends of ours come into town from the other side of the state. We met them in St. Maarten and soon they will be moving to Tennessee. They have never seen tulip time, so we tried to show them around. I have lived here most of my life and have never seen Windmill Island so we went there. It was pretty neat. The weather did not cooperate that day so I felt that we did not get to show them enough.

Moving

This last few weeks have been busy. Let me start with about 2 weeks ago. We are moving to saginaw for Jim to start his residency in EM. We did a few trips to saginaw and on the last trip 2 weeks ago we made an offer on one of our top houses. It was more than I wanted to spend but had everything that we wanted and was in move in condition. So then we were just in the waiting game. We stayed the night and on our way out of town the next day our realtor called and told us that they took our offer. We could hardly believe it. I think the nerves kicked in more. Now AGAIN waiting on the bank. Yesterday our bank called us here at home and told us that everything went through well and pretty much no we are officially HOME OWNERS!!!! I am a typical dutch person that the thought of all the money just makes me nervous but we have been renting for the same price that our mortgage will be for the last 10 years and have been moving every year too. Now we will be put in one place for 3 years......HERE IS TO THE NEXT STEP FOR US!!!!!! We close on June 2nd, YIPPY!!!
