Well I finally did some pictures of the boys...it is more like their 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 year pics..but I was happy with them. It is always hard to get Jacob to actually look at me, I might post some more because I got a few on the railroad tracks too in his overalls.

The surgery went very well. I had a really hard time when they came and got Jacob, he went to the nurse ok but then started whimpering mommy...then i filled with tears and started to cry. When he came back to the room in the crib "cage" he was just starting to wake up and right away tried crawling out when he saw me. Once he started to eat he would not stop and we wound up not having to stay the night. He has been since then very whiney and clinging to mom, I finally yesterday went back to work and he did ok without me. Today now is Oct 9 and he is doing really well. All the scabs are off and I think we are in the clear. Thank you for everyone that thought and prayed about us on that day.

This was before Jacob's surgery. He was given some "happy juice" and was being pretty funny.

apple picking

We decided to go apple picking the day before Jacob's surgery. A lot of the apples were gone already but we did well. We got about 80 pounds of apples between my sister and I. I have canned most of it but also made the most delicious apple crisp. I might just want to save some as frozen chunks for some apple bread that I am sure I will never make as good as Renee did. The boys had more fund running up and down the rows and biting into apples and trowing them, oops!!!! but it was a good day, and of course you can not apple pick without having apple cider donuts and cider.

Today I had a chance to go and watch a couple of orthopedic surgeries...I have been a nurse for 6 years and done mostly med/surg and I know now surgery is something that I do NOT want to do as a nurse....I watched the end of total knee replacement and then saw a total hip replacement. They actually completely pop the hip out of socket to remove the head of the femur and put a new one in...It was amazing what they can do and awesome to get a chance to see but the popping out of the socket thing made me a little nauseated and weak. My manager told me that I could go and see a couple back surgeries too but we will see, I get paid to do it, where else would you get paid to sit and watch surgeries...
